My doctoral dissertation is an interdisciplinary work with a focus on the experiences of people with endometriosis within the healthcare system. I specialize in cultural studies and health humanities. I’m exploring the connections between gender, age, and the stigma in social discourse surrounding menstruation. The end goal is shedding light on how the intersections of gender and age affect the kind of care a person will receive.

Keywords: gender, age, endometriosis, menstruation, health narratives

Curriculum Vitae

I have completed my MA at the University of Graz, during which time I worked as a student lecturer at the Institute for American Studies. Afterwards, I started my PhD. An avid traveler, since then I've completed a doctoral fellowship in Canada, where I am now often a guest lecturer, and have taught in Vietnam and Serbia.

As a sufferer of endometriosis myself, I’m very passionate about my research. This extends to activism. I use my voice and knowledge to educate in creative and informal ways, cooperating with numerous NGOs. I advocate for others through all mediums that are at my disposal!
