In research and teaching I am dedicated to questions of social development and transformation needs of health systems, solidarity and care networks in old age and at the end of life, in linking palliative care, public health, and care ethics as a conceptual background.

The questions of social justice, the democratization of care, as well as the multi-layered design of places for our future living and caring - in short: the future of aging and dying - requires an interdisciplinary approach that transcends borders and expands horizons. The Age and Care Research Group offers the perfect setting for this concern.

Keywords: end-of-life care, public health, sociology of aging and dying, care ethics, care policy
