Focus in my research are older people in need of care, who live in nursing homes in Austria and their quality of life. Relevant for the research group is the point of view of nursing homes and their residents in its activities.

Curriculum Vitae
Romana Winkler is managing director of the Landesverband Altenpflege Steiermark (“Styrian association for elderly care”), member of the managing board of the Bundesverband der Alten- und Pflegeheime Österreichs (“Austrian association for elderly care”) and employee of the Geriatric Healthcare Centers of the City of Graz. She is assessor for EFQM, E-Qalin and NQZ (“national quality certificate for nursing homes”). She is lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland in the education of nursing home directors. She studied Management in Healthcare and Management and Organization of Nursing Homes at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland and the Danube University Krems. Her doctoral thesis at the School of Business, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Graz addresses the quality of life of older people in need of care, especially in nursing homes.
