In my research and teaching, I am focusing on ethical aspects of health care in general and in particular in connection with age(ing). I am currently working on the topic of ageism and its impact on the quality of life and care of older persons.

Curriculum Vitae

Elisabeth Langmann is a medical ethicist with an interdisciplinary background in nursing science, pedagogy and applied ethics. After completing her studies in Graz (Austria), she worked as a project manager in the field of clinical research at the Medical University of Graz before joining FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg, working as a researcher as well as practitioner in the field of Clinical Ethics (Consultation). Her research focuses on ethical issues concerning health care and well-being, especially in older age. Therefore, she pursues her dissertation on ethical aspects of ageism in health care concerning elderly people, as part of the Graduiertenkolleg “Menschenrechte und Ethik in der Medizin für Ältere” supported by the Josef und Luise Kraft-Stiftung. As part of the interdisciplinary project SMART-AGE on the topic of quality of life and technology in old age, she will be working as a research associate at the University of Tuebingen starting in October 2021.
