Schuster Karin

Karin Schuster is the initiator of the project Pflegestützpunkt and is responsible for its content. Her professional expertise and strong interest in the topic of nursing comes from her full-time occupation. For three decades, she has worked as a qualified health care and nursing professional, mainly in the field of operating theatre nursing, but has also gained experience in intra- and extramural nursing.
In 2017, she completed the media course at the University of Graz with a Master of Arts. She has been active at Radio Helsinki 92.6 - Freies Radio Graz for 12 years. There she is not only active as a radio producer, but has also been entrusted with association activities (chairwoman, programme councillor).
The care support point, which was conceived in summer 2018, will enter its third project year in May 2022.
Karin Schuster is involved in socio-political activities with Attac and Mehr für Care! She loves activities on the airwaves, in the streets and in community gardens.
Project „Pflegestützpunkt. How we care and want to care"
The Pflegestützpunkt project promotes the exchange of experiences and creates space to discuss the status quo and future of care together and to find solutions, in Graz and nationwide. Radio Helsinki acts as a discourse platform and mass media multiplier via radio, streaming, podcast and as a meeting place. Nursing and care work must be made more visible and audible and finally appreciated!
