Based on the longstanding expertise in the field of Aging Studies at the four universities in Graz, the research group brings together researchers from a wide range of disciplines - from the humanities, cultural and social sciences, law, economics, natural sciences, as well as medical ethics, nursing science, technology, and architecture. Through their scientific expertise and their social commitment, the researchers from the four universities in Graz contribute to analysing current problems and developing viable solutions in order to better meet current and future challenges (so-called "grand challenges"), such as climate change, "modern aging" and demographic change or migration and to counteract social division as well as threats to liberal democracy in an evidence-based manner.
