Call for Submissions: Gewonnene Jahre - New Ways into Old Age - An Ö1 Annual Focus

ACRGG members can submit their innovative projects to the Ö1 initiative "Gewonnene Jahre" (years gained).

The initiative wants to create awareness for issues around aging and to show new possibilities to plan aging in time and to shape it positively.

Ö1 is looking for innovative and encouraging projects that can help us better prepare for old age and cope more effectively with the challenges it brings.

Suitable projects can be submitted at https://oe1.orf.at/gewonnenejahre. Of particular interest are those initiatives that leave well-trodden paths and/or promote a positive approach to old age. Submission is possible until July 31, 2021.

Statistically, we gain three months of life every year. And: we not only live longer, but also stay active and healthy longer on average. People approach this third phase of life in very different ways: from the longing to realise life dreams, to finally have time for the grandchildren or to pursue new educational paths, to concerns about financial leeway, social connection, health and independence in later years as well.

One thing is certain: the earlier we deal with ageing, the better prepared we are. But new solutions and more social commitment are needed at many levels.
