Based on the expertise in the field of ageing sciences that has been built up in Graz over the years, the research group brings together researchers from a wide range of disciplines. Through their scientific expertise and social commitment, the researchers from the four universities in Graz contribute to analysing current problems and developing viable solutions in order to better address current and future challenges (such as the climate crisis, intergenerational relationships and demographic change, migration, etc.) and to counteract social division and threats to liberal democracy on the basis of evidence.
In the course of international cooperation and partner projects, the Age and Care Research Group works together with researchers from renowned international universities and research institutions.
The Age and Care Research Group Graz includes experts from practice, business, society and research. It actively promotes inter- and transdisciplinary networking and exchange and thus forms a platform for the combination of knowledge, expertise and experience from different social realities.
With the aim of working in interdisciplinary and interprofessional cooperation on adequate solutions for concrete social realities, it bundles this knowledge, but also works to sensitise social actors to issues relating to ageing and care, thus realising the university's "third mission".
