The inter-university Age and Care Research Group Graz (ACRGG) was founded in 2019 and is based on the expertise in the field of ageing and care research that has been built up in Graz for many years.
It makes the existing achievements in ageing and care research at the four universities visible, bundles and coordinates them and serves to expand cooperation in science and research, business and practice. Together, project proposals are drafted, events organised, theses supervised and, for example, radio programmes created.
Around 40 researchers and doctoral students from all four universities are currently working with practice partners and 15 international affiliated members from Denmark, Germany, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland and Slovenia to build up the network, which strengthens the visibility of ageing and care research in Graz. The group is constantly growing.
As can be seen in the diagram, the ACRGG represents a central platform for linking science, practice, business, art and society and for sustainably advancing ageing and care research in Graz, as well as at a national and international level:
- For sustainable images of social living and care cultures in old age
- For the overcoming of (intersectional) patterns of injustice
- For the democratisation of life chances in old age and the organisation of care
- For innovative research approaches, practical models, teaching and learning processes and new forms of networking and co-creation
